This beautiful sunset was seen in Crex Meadows in 2007...and as you can see takes me a while to paint much of the beauty I see along the way. The colors are warm with the sun in it's red orange and those colors are mirrored on the water's surface and the trees on the bank are muted in their quiet stance...last night Marge and I joined a wonderful couple Anna and Kevin, for dinner, who are in the process of rearranging their lives so they can find a way so Kevin can work and be closer to home. Anna is a homemaker, while doing great photography in many areas. We met Anna and Kevin in the camera club in Spooner and have kept in touch since. I gifted this painting to them so when they are in their new home...they can see the beautiful "sunset on Crex" and remember all the beauty God has created here in Wisconsin.
I remember times with my parents, who are now gone, when the water was so quiet reflecting so many beautiful colors..in a lot of ways looking through the water and seeing all this beauty..I call this God's canvas, and is the most beautiful canvas on earth...constantly changing each moment of the day...never dull or boring and for me inspiring to capture some of these beautiful feelings along the way. Plein air painting can be a wonderful experience and is very challenging to capture the light's ever changing ways..
Enjoy your days and may God bless you greatly may all your sunsets be sweet..
