Top of the moring to all,
It's a good morning, the moon light is bright needing no outdoor light to walk the dogs. We still have, even after a few days of snow melting, a foot of very dense compacted snow, and with March a few weeks away probably another foot or more of new snow, might even be 2-3 feet then the lakes and reservoirs will be full going into summer. One can not predict the summer rain so heavy wintering snow is a must here.
In today's painting called, "honey-moon in Tetons," I am very happy with progress, and as you might have noted the foreground is not as big for a purpose, the mountain is the center of attention, and to make the foreground larger on the canvas size my proportions would be off and I didn't want to use that part of artistic lisence, hence a slightly smaller forground leding the eye quickly into the mountain and down the range. I don't think the forground plays a major role, only slightly with the mountain with all it's grandeur high in the big sky.
Marge and I spent a week at Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park in 1996 ( this lodge is great we highly recommend) and we walked and hiked in both National Parks, the Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, very enjoyable to be amongst all the wildlife. This painting is a 22X30 and with framing will probably be a 28X36 after finishing.
