Last night was our last session in painting class. Painting with fellow artist is an honor, Marge joined me so this was a first, our painting in the same class.
Today's painting is a work in progress, called "ancients of ancients,"a bull buffalo. He was in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora,ND, with his herd of cows and young. I'm painting him because, like people, because he is different his numbers have been diminished, and reduced to only a very few. There is a parallel worth thinking about. Differences can be a greater strength not a weakness.
Look at his strength, yet if you watch him closely he's gentle almost like a lamb. Then when the wolves try to take an elk or elk calf, he comes protecting the elk and the wolves run for their lives, yes elk ask for and the bison come to help. The elk is regal and very important too, like the buffalo caring for their young.
When friends call for help, listen join them in their trials and tribulations, no man or woman is an island unto themselves. We are designed to love to help one another.
Christmas next week, joy, peace, most of all love.
